Benetton is stupid. Someone, anyone within that organization should have had the balls to say how ridiculous these ads are and more importantly how they would be perceived. How in the world would photos depicting controversial figures KISSING increase tolerance? If anything the automatic reaction from anyone viewing it is “WHAT?” Global Love? Really? Half the planet hates each other over religious, racial, and political non sense, this ad just fuels the fire of the ignorant. I had to read the article and the “UnHate” in the corner of the ad just to kind of understand where they were attempting to go with this. The whole marketing and advertising department should be fired for this one.
