I can respect the Catholic Church but…

I believe it is possible to respect ones faith and still have an opinion concerning the spectacle surrounding the conclave every minute of the day. Every news channel feels the need to cover at great length the election of a Pope while at the same time pointing out the disturbing trends within the Church. Am I the only one disturbed concerning the amount of attention, pomp and circumstance being given to the election of the “Holiest of Holiest” on this earth (the most humble presumably right?).For humility to be a key tenant of the Catholic Church the ceremonies, traditions and money being spent seems in direct contradiction to this pillar of “truth” within the faith. In addition as they have just recently (in comparison with church history) elected non Anglo Saxons to the rank of Cardinal, I wonder how the few African, American, and Latin American Cardinals feel when they are welcomed into a hall to pray and all the beautiful paintings, wall murals and other images considered sacred to the Church are all of blue eyed, fair skinned white men?
